A Noon Quickie

We now know that galaxies and stars are born, have a life span, and die. There must have been a time before All this came into being, when only God existed. In that Oneness of existence, perhaps it was that God began to Examine Himself and Questioned Himself. Am I All That Is? Am I All that I Can Be? Am I Perfect? If not, How Can I Attain Ultimate Perfection? And in that Great Questioning, God Conceived and Created the Totality of the Universe and All That Is In It for the Purpose of Achieving Ultimate Perfection. We can know this to be True because we are here, we exist now.

If you can doubt yourself, why is it unreasonable to believe that God might, just maybe, ask Himself a question, or two? Would you deny God this right? If so, you happen to be braver than I.

If you can come up with a reason that seems to make sense for why God would choose to create the universe, beyond sheer boredom and self questioning, I’d like to hear from you. I choose to believe that God did not create the Universe out of ennui or simple boredom. Please do not bore me with any ideas that approach the concept that the universe was uniquely created only for human beings. This is just human ego centrism. I’d rather consider giving a 400 pound hog that didn't want one, a warm, sudsy bubble bath. I basically like the idea of a self-questioning God because of its simplicity, and I like the idea of God’s introspection.

I was once taught a principle of art wherein: whatever you, the observer, sees in a painting or sculpture, no matter how divergent from the obvious, or even the artists’ own objectives, belongs to the skill, vision, and creative power of the artist. Whatever you see is his possession. What you see of God’s creation is His creation as expressed through your eyes and intellect, and He deserves the credit for His work. Do not deny God. He won’t care if you do deny Him, but you limit yourself, your own achievements, when you deny God.

Try to think of the universe where God lives where the birth, life, and death of stars, 7 to 15 billions of years per star lifetime as we measure time, is like human beings observing the birth, life and death of mayflies. One day, as we measure time.

And you want God to pay attention to whether or not someone grabs a noon quickie with another man’s wife, or with his unmarried secretary? Or if a bored housewife chooses to add some excitement, or better genes to her life?

Expecting that kind of attention from God about human concerns is disrespectful of the very concept of God. Or, is it that we have changed our concept of God. Changed our concept of God to match our own ideas of an umpire to watch over us, blow the whistle on us, assess penalties, and send us back in to play again? Have we changed our concept of God to reflect our local little Earth human image because our egos are so large?

On the scale of things where stars are born and die, physical man is pretty small potatoes. On the scale of things where humans live, bacteria are pretty small potatoes. Our bacteria-like worries and our individual proclivities are simply unimportant. If humans are to have any importance in the universe, we are here to serve God’s Purpose. Even if this includes the noon quickie, husband cuckolding, and premarital sex.

We are as grain between the Great Millstones, grist and flour destined only for the Staff of Life.
