Did We Invent God?

How does a simple idea, a view about the Nature of God, change one’s religion, religious practices, and even such fundamental human ideas as charity?

If God is not human. If God has little interest in humans. If God has little interest in human activity, except possibly as a means to an end of His choosing? What then is the importance of prayer, ministers, churches, cathederals, or a heirarchial system of leadership of a religion? Answers: None.

In that event, isn’t all of religion a human invention? Doesn’t religion deserve less attention than we give it? Religion is an amelioriating influence between humans. Religion can be attempt to help other members of our primate troop.

In that event, isn’t religion simply a personal matter, a personal relationship of the individual and his perception of God?

In the end, isn’t that relationship what becomes the driving force in each person’s life that modifies a lifetime of decisions?

Isn’t it the personal relationship between a person and God that underpins the value system of the individaul when it is decision time. When decisions that affect everything about a person must be made?

Nothing about religion is simple. The fundamental portion, the foundation upon which it is based, all structures of belief and faith must be supported by the presence , or absence of an individual’s ideas about the Natuire of God.

Each one of the members of the human troop will, in one way or another, either deliberately by conscious decision, or by barely considered ignorance, make his decison about the Nature of God.
