So, what is chalk? For that I... God Is Dead? By : George Wallace God is dead. The whole idea is and was dumb. The real question is not whether God is dead. The question is, is He alive? Is God alive in any sense in which we humans could quantify? Is God alive in any sense in which we humans could measure? Is God alive in any sense in which we humans could detect? This is likely doubtful. And, in fact, God may be so disinterested in us as individuals of our species that He could make very sure that we could not detect Him. How do we define a Deity? God's religious laws are His Natural Laws. God has laws for living things, and the most important of these is the imperative for survival. Free will is the second level of God's laws for living things, as this conforms to His Purpose. Prostitution has been widely encouraged many times by organized religions. Sins Will Not Keep You Away From God By : George Wallace I'm trying to deal with a particularly difficult kind of "sin". Human beings made it up. Then very skillfully hid the evidence. An ill-defined "miasma of general, just normal human nastiness. It compounds the layered misconceptions about God. It gets your attention, and sets you up for the sale. Why does something that supposedly is so great for the congregation members have to be sold like potato chips, soap flakes, and used cars? You Have to Choose to Sin By : George Wallace Sin is a transgression of a religious law. This is the lowest level of sin. Sin is a deliberate disobedience. You have to know it is a sin, and do it anyway. You have to choose to sin. I am only concerned with the higher level of religious sin. The higher level of religious sin is that behavior which knowingly and deliberately interferes with God's Plan. It is our duty to follow those laws and rules. You Are A Disappointment to God? By : George Wallace What is religious sin, especially if God is not going to punish you for your sins? Why can’t “sin” be as simple as God’s eventual disappointment at the results you have created of your life? God does not reject you, or throw away your soul when you are a disappointment to Him. If you waste your time, you can never get it back. Why should you waste even a single hour of a single day of your life? Salting the Soup & Preparing to Meet God By : George Wallace You can choose to ignore God for your entire life. You can choose to break every man-made law, rule, or regulation. God will not care. God will not stop you. God will not punish you. God will cherish you. God will only judge you upon your death. Your after death experience with God is His to choose. You cannot buy your way into His favor. You cannot take the salt out of the soup. God will still savor your essence when He calls you home. God Will Not Paddle Your Behind By : George Wallace You want a brand of human created order. That will make you feel more comfortable. You are unwilling to limit yourself to being a part of God's World. You want God to treat you like we humans treat a puppy being housebroken. No matter how much you want it, God is not going to paddle your behind. Our God Given free will determines our choices. Our choices determine our actions. We Are Inside God's Petri Dish By : George Wallace Even God is uncertain how the human experiment will turn out. He most likely has multiple back-up plans. God has plenty of time. He’s already got His Plan of evolution working for Him. He also has evolution’s great tools of diversification and competition working for Him. God is not good, nor is He evil. God is. God simply is. God is using human beings. It is our own free will that develops good and evil. God Is Evil ? God Is Good ? By : George Wallace Evil exists. Random chance events of nature. Chance events that are the result of free will choices of humans. Now apply these words: like, limits, happy, fear, misunderstood, and control to yourself. Are you wearing blinders? Do you try to deny God? God is neither good nor evil. Why should God “spoil” you? Why should God desire a rotten soul? Your Death & Hot Blackberry Pie A La Mode By : George Wallace You are born. You acquire soul. You live. You die. What comes after? That is the first question. The second question is, "Who, or what determines the part after death? Do you get just one run at life? Do you have an opportunity for multiple chances? Could a second life be a reward? Could a second life be a punishment? Isn't it up to God? You Are God's Hammer By : George Wallace God is. The soul is. Death is simply a matter of time, place, and circumstance for all of us. Today is a good day to die. We are the tools of, and for, God’s purpose. Just so with God with a useful tool like a soul. Why should a soul not be used many times for different purposes? Our purpose is to be used by God. Between birth and death, is up to you. You are God's hammer. Egocentric Concept & Rape of the Planet By : George Wallace The idea of soul may be an egocentric concept. It allows us to believe that there is life after death. It permits a self-indulgent sense of pride. It justifies our otherwise stupid actions. We seek dominion over the earth. We rape the planet. We may even have invented “God”. We also needed a God to “create” our souls. In other words, a falsehood nested inside a falsehood. Thinking that God thinks humans are important is simply more egocentricism. You know how lies can grow. Many Ways to Bribe God ? By : George Wallace We will bribe God. First was the intense study of astronomy. Organization of societies to build huge monolithic monuments to be used as calendars. Those early astronomers sought answers. Religious leaders could use natural phenomena to reinforce belief in their “power” to talk to God. A cathedral as a tool for control of the masses is pure genius. Plain old simple individual prayer does not seem to have any effect. God does not seem to be listening. God does not do what we want Him to do. From Vision Quest to Bribing God By : George Wallace Many religions have practiced this “seeking after God”. Sometimes it is a "rite of passage". Organized religion took these ideas, reinvented them, adding voluntary retreat from society, asceticism, and vows of poverty. All are attempts to incur the pleasure of God. Each is a kind of bribe to try to get something from God. They are attempts to force some kind of recognition from God. Some way to retain their power. Don’t Expect to Be a Pig in Mud By : George Wallace Expect little of God. Your whole life is a flicker of a shadow of a hummingbird's wing in flight. You only become important to God after your death. God is not interested in your problems. You have a God given job to do. Get out there and do you job. A nanosecond, of bliss in a lifetime is enough. Bliss is not a hot tub. Don’t expect to be a pig in mud. There exists a place for regular periodic meditation. Jesus Part 7. Stone Roller? By : George Wallace Jesus offered Himself as a martyr for purposes of resurrection. It was to be used as an example to drag the Jews back to the "straight and narrow" of that faith. The Jews were, after all, Jesus' intended audience. It is also a clear example of misunderstanding the intransigence and iron willed determination of the leaders of organized religion. After Jesus' ascension, His message depended on word of mouth advertising for a very long time. Jesus Part 6. The Gambler? By : George Wallace Despite an early obscure death, Jesus is the most successful, most famous Jew in history. He was born and raised in the Middle East which had been a pressure cooker for religion for thousands of years. Reformers rise up out of the obscurity of the masses of humanity as a suddenly growing wild weed. The Roman military was well versed with dealing out death. Crucifixion was a terror tactic. Christ offered Himself as a martyr. Jesus Part 5. The First Evangelical? By : George Wallace Jesus was born, raised, and educated as a Jew. The Jews wanted a military leader to step forward and do in the Romans. The Romans and the Sanhedrin were constantly prepared to work together to quell any hint of civil, or religious disturbances. They employed an extensive spy network. Using crucifixion and slavery to quiet such disturbances was an effective methodology for dealing with rioters. To Jews of the period, Jesus was a disappointment, a “hippy – flower child” advocating love. Jesus Part 4. He Got Married? By : George Wallace Even less is known about the years of adulthood between age 19 and 30 for Jesus than His childhood. Almost nothing is known of the childhood of Jesus. No one around Jesus during His childhood, teenaged and young adult years, and adult years until about age thirty apparently thought anything remarkable about Him. Which implies that He was a pretty typical Jewish boy, pre-adult, and adult of His times. Each of these parts of His life merits examination. Jesus Part 3. As A Teen? By : George Wallace Do you consider yourself a Jew, a member of the Hebrew faith? If you are a nominal Christian, why not? Jesus was born, raised, and educated as a Jew. It is very likely that Jesus spoke Aramaic, Greek, and Hebrew. Aramaic was the common language. Hebrew was the language of religious instruction. Greek was the language of commerce. He, and His father, Joseph were carpenters and possibly stone cutters. Even less is known about the early adulthood of Jesus than His childhood. Jesus Part 2. Imaginary Childhood? By : George Wallace Whether or not Jesus was a real person, He has had a huge impact on our history. His life can be divided into five parts: birth, childhood, teens, young adult, His Ministry, His Death, and His Ascension. Each of these parts merits examination. Free will is the keystone of both faith and belief. Faith must act on the golden rule. To do something with your faith, you must choose. You must exercise free will. For you to have free will means that the future cannot be known. God is not going to get personal with you. You must get personal with God. God’s gift to you is the ability to choose and believe as you see fit. "Sin" Smells Like a Dead Fish By : George Wallace Most of what we have been told about sin is a lie. The lies stink. They smell like a dead fish. They stink because their purpose is so venal. Only organized religion is served by these stinking lies. The lies do not serve people. The lies serve organized religion. Very little that organized religion calls “sin” is sin. God gives us life and free will. Sin then must negatively impact either life, free will, or God’s Plan. Did We Invent God? By : George Wallace How does a simple idea, a view about the Nature of God, change one’s religion, religious practices, and even such fundamental human ideas as charity? If God is not human. If God has little interest in humans. If God has little interest in human activity, except possibly as a means to an end of His choosing? What then is the importance of prayer, ministers, churches, cathederals, or a heirarchial system of leadership of a religion? Answers: None. Religion is a human invention. Mugging God? By : George Wallace What will God do for us? Nothing. Why should He? What does He do for the other species? Why should you expect to get any better answer to your fears and prayers than does a deer fearing a wolf and praying that he isn't seen or smelled? Don’t expect so much of God. How do we get God’s attention? Do nothing. Don't waste your time or effort. You can’t get His attention. He isn’t listening. God didn’t set up this experiment in such a way that He had to monitor it all the time. The IRS and God By : George Wallace What do we owe God? Nothing. This not a question of debt. You haven’t borrowed anything from God. You have not run up a “tab” at some kind of celestial “company store”. You didn’t ask God for life. Your parents made that decision for you. You didn’t ask God for “soul”. You didn’t ask God for a portion of free will. These things were imposed on you. Free will allows you both rejection and refusal. When you are given a gift, you do not have a reciprocal obligation to pay anything back Physics, Chemistry, Evolution, and God By : George Wallace How does God make the Universe work? It is called physics and chemistry, and He created it. The smartest ones of us can be challenged and study it. Learn from it. To learn of God. To know God. Knowledge of God is not found by spending time on your knees. Knowledge of God is found by scientific study of God’s Universe. How does God make His created life on Earth work? It is called evolution and He created it so the smartest ones of us could be challenged and study it. Learn from it. God, Rabbits, and Man By : George Wallace We are only one of the many life forms on this planet. We may well be God’s experiment with intelligence. The simple answer is that probably we humans are simply just another species, one of God’s many animal experiments. Why are we here? It could be an accident. I choose to believe that God has a Plan for us. I assume it. Does God have a role for Man? Yes. I believe so. If He didn’t, we wouldn’t be here. God is Sexless By : George Wallace God is. He exists. God is a living God. God is not human. God is sexless. God is strange. God is incomprehensible. God is mysterious and not easily understood. God acts in strange ways. God acts in incomprehensible ways. Yet God is a living God. The most distant living animal from humans is an arthropod. An insect, or a spider might therefore fill the requirements for a symbol for God. Other symbols are possible, and are the choice of the individual.
